Capitol Velo Cycling Release and Hold Harmless Agreement
The following agreement is entered into in as a condition for membership on the Capitol Velo Racing Team:
ASSUMPTION OF RISK:
ASSUMPTION OF RISK: I acknowledge that there is an inherent risk of serious bodily injury or death in bicycling activities and in bicycle racing. On behalf of myself, my personal representatives, assigns, heirs, and next of kin, I fully accept and assume all such risk, from whatever source, and accept all responsibility for losses, costs, and damages I may incur as a result of any activities arising out of or relating to my membership on the Team.
RELEASE OF LIABILITY:
On behalf of myself, my personal representatives, assigns, heirs, and next of kin, I hereby release and waive all claims, damages, demands, actions, causes of action, costs and expenses, of every nature, which I may possess currently or in the future against the Team, its administrators, directors, agents, officers, members, volunteers, sponsors, or advertisers (hereinafter the “Released Parties”), that may result from injury (or death) to me or injury to my property in any way arising out of or relating to my membership on the Team, including without limitation participation in Team events, training rides, or racing events, even if the claim arises from the sole negligence of the Released Parties.
HOLD HARMLESS:
In the event that I am signing this agreement as the parent or guardian of a Team member who is below the age of 18 (hereinafter “minor Team Member”), I hereby agree to indemnify and hold harmless the Team, its administrators, directors, agents, officers, members, volunteers, sponsors, or advertisers (hereinafter the “Indemnified Parties”) from all claims, damages, demands, actions, causes of action, costs and expenses, of every nature, which minor Team Member may possess currently or in the future against the Indemnified Parties that result from injury (or death) to minor Team Member or injury to his/her property in any way arising out of or relating to minor Team Member’s membership on the Team, including without limitation participation in Team events, training rides, or racing events, even if the claim arises from the sole negligence of the Indemnified Parties.
